About Us

At Doopatha, we do things differently.

Breaking down common barriers found in larger corporate food industries and focusing instead on continuous transformation aligned with world food system transformation goals, we have strategically created a unique, consistent and lean food supply ecosystem based on carefully selecting from not only high-quality and optimal, but also fully transparent and traceable, supply chains in Sri Lanka.

From community-led, well-organized farms, including small-holder family farms, located in pristine areas of Sri Lanka, to processors, packaging and storage, all the way to shipping our products to consumers overseas, we are flexible to bring the right product to the right consumer at the right time and place. We also seek to actively partner and cooperate with industrialized economies to introduce new technologies, designs and skills into our ecosystem to galvanize food system transformation.

We are deeply committed to being an active participant of the World Economic Forum Food
Transformation Program, The Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aimed at accelerating food system transformation. Nutrition, inclusivity and sustainability are core values for us and we believe in stronger farmer-focused ecosystems, where they are paid fair prices for what they produce. Moreover, by training and supporting farmers to adopt and embrace agriculture-focused technologies, we plan to enable and accelerate the transition towards regenerative agriculture, which not only significantly reduces greenhouse gases, but will also pave the way to better withstand climate and economic shocks.

Sri Lanka has for centuries produced valuable and luxurious food products, such as spices, based on generational arts and skills, which are essential ingredients of world cuisine and herbal medication. While the agriculture sector contributes about 7.4 percent to the national GDP, we have a vision to not only help Sri Lanka reach its true potential as a main high-quality and consistent food producer to the world, but also build long-term and fruitful partnerships with buyers to fully utilize and further develop the fertile tropical land and uplift the livelihoods of local farming communities and enhance economic, environmental and social aspects in the country.
